The Fujitsu IS12T device will be available in Japan in just a few hours time. The IS12T is the first Windows Phone device to be made available in Japan and the first to run Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango”. The waterproof phone features a 3.7″ WVGA display and is powered by Qualcomm’s MSM8655 chipset. The device also includes a massive 13.2MP camera and 32GB of onboard storage.
Commonly referred to as Windows Phone Mango, its codename, Windows Phone 7.5 was finalized by the software giant in late July. Microsoft is planning to launch a number of Windows Phone 7.5 devices on September 1, according to reports.. The date ties in with IFA, Europe’s largest consumer electronics show in Berlin and should see the unveiling of new devices from Samsung, Acer, ZTE and LG. WinRumors understands that Microsoft will announce several Windows Phone 7.5 devices on September 1 but that the update for existing devices will not be made available immediately. Microsoft is understood to be preparing a rolling update instead of a single “big bang” approach.
Fujitsu’s IS12T is available through KDDI corporation and Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company starting August 25. The IS12T is available in citrus, magenta and black colors.
