Following the Pearl Flip 8220 and Flip 8230, RIM introduces another clamshell style smartphone, the BlackBerry Style 9670, which has been spotted several times before, here and here. The new flip Style smartphone features a full QWERTY keyboard, like most Blackberry phones, that makes email, messaging and real-time chats with BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) easy. It runs BlackBerry OS 6.
The BlackBerry Style sports a 360×400 internal display, a 240×320 external display, 5 Megapixel camera with image stabilization and VGA video recording, built-in GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity. It has 512MB onboard memory and comes with a 8GB microSDHC memory card. The smartphone’s built-in media player supports MP3, AAC-LC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, AMR-NB, QCELP EVRC audio and H.263, MPEG4 Simple Profile 3, H.264, WMV video files. There is 3.5mm stereo headset jack and built-in speakerphone.
BlackBerry Style 9670 supports 800/1900 MHz CDMA/EVDO Rev A networks and offers tethered modem capability. It will be available on 31 October from Sprint for 99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new line or eligible upgrade and two-year service agreement with activation on a Sprint Business Advantage Messaging and Data plan or Everything plan with data.
